BBC's VERY misleading advertising

The BBC are currently running adverts for their Saturday night programming which are VERY misleading. They are saying 'catch all the Premiership goals & the rest of the day's news' (or words to those effect) with a strap saying 'BBC News and Sport 8.55' with ONLY sports action showing over it - no general news shots.

It hard to explain, but . . .
What the Beeb are doing is abusing their sports news broadcaster's rights to make out that a BBC News programme is infact a football highlights show. This is done mainly by showing football throughout the ad.

Im quite disgusted by the whole sorry trailer, moved to tears one might almost say!

We can never trust the BBC again!

But this is the BBC!
The masters of misleading advertising and cross-promotion!

It's called 'being bitter'.

Well it's not really misleading... if people can read and hear then how is it misleading. It clearly says BBC News and Sport...

They are capitalising on people who don't want to sit through one and a half hours of Premiership highlights (ie. me!) but still like to know all the scores... As all the games will have been on by then I don't really see the problem!

The soundtrack says something like 'and all the best premiership goals join the News and Sport'

Marin - you misunderstand me.
The BBC are very unhappy about losing their footie rights to the evil commerical TV companies.
I've just had a look at ITV's Goal Rush and as I expected it looks pants. With possibly the slowest ticker I've ever had the misfortune to see.
The BBC is misleading when it comes to promotion - it loves to cross promote brands too. News 24 on Newsnight is a wonderful example of this. If you saw Newsnight about a month ago, you'd know what I mean. I do not mean the little graphic at the end saying 'news coverage around the clock', before anyone tries to be clever!

Clever? Smile I actually quite like the Goal Rush - their results screen at least. The BBC's look horrible but at least they've sorted out the vidiprinter. Sky Sport's still have the best look for results.

I don't really like the Goal rush graphics - a bit too shiny.
Although I've not seen it on a TV yet, only my TV card so I can't make an accurate judgement!
I wish they'd stop plugging themselves though!
Martin - sorry, I got your name wrong Smile
