Also, I have to say that the text message is not even a good theme for a theme night.

Agreed - neither of the presenters seemed to have rehearsed anything. The programmes even have a DOG and the continuity announcer gets in on the act with a text message noise over the idents.

Cheers, Asa

A DOG that isn't even in the 4:3 area either!, The Envelope seems to be flashing just like when people wear striped shirts on TV

So, the overall opinion is that we don't like this programme.

OH NO, I'm about to be corrupted by the BBC with this ever so naughty 'X-Text' show, they just had 'FNC A SHG' in the opening credits.  I'm off to write to Points of View.

Beat you to it:

Sir or Madam,

I'll keep this blunt and to the point. What a load of rubbish the 'Joy of text' night was. I could write a hell of a lot more, but I don't think it's worth it.

I never say Sir or Madam when I write to the BBC.
I normally being with, 'Right, can you please explain to me, the good hard working (yeah right) license fee pater why...'
I recall writing a rather rude letter to the BBC about how much of my money they had spent covering the Kosovo Crisis, when Sky had done a much better job at 1/2 the price.
I got a rude reply.
They got a rude reply.
This went on until they backed down and apologised.

Oh it is great fun.

'To text' will no be in the dictionary, it makes very little sense.
I think the correct terminology is 'To send a text message' or 'To write a text message'.
'To text' is like saying that when I am writing that is 'To letter' or 'To pen'.

Chesh - 'To pen' is a verb - as in to pen a letter

Just thought i'd correct you!

Yes you're right.
As in, I am penning a letter to the BBC.
Apologies.
