Although I own a mobile phone, I can't believe that the BBC are devoting a whole night to the text message which is basically a prolonged advert for the already overexposed mobile phone industry. Yawn.

It isn't the case that I am anti-mobile phone, just anti-mobile phone user.
The majority of people who own one of these phones (my entire family (except me) included) seems to use them as a toy.
A lot of mobile phone users will call a number without even thinking about it.
'To text' will no be in the dictionary, it makes very little sense.
I think the correct terminology is 'To send a text message' or 'To write a text message'.
'To text' is like saying that when I am writing that is 'To letter' or 'To pen'.

This is the crapest program I've seen for ages. Why are the BBC wasting our money with this rubbish? It's totally pointless. It's not even entertaining in the slightest.

I don't know who came up with this inane drivel, but some BBC heads should roll.

The BBC (well, this new woman playing controller of BBC One) trying to be cool. Absolutely pathetic. I think that I am a member of the youth that this awful strand is aimed at. It's like Radio 1 'ooh, let's be trendy' - give me Radio 4 any day!!

Grow up BBC. You're supposed to be the UK's (if not the world's) premier broadcaster, not an even more pathetic version of ITV.

Are you listening Nicky? Smile

I hope the BBC are not going to make a habbit of 'theme evenings', I cant hate them esp on a Saturday evening in  a prime-time slot. The more theme evenings they put on the better the chance they will slip repeats into the schedule and dress them up into something they are not.

R.I.P. Theme Evenings
at least after Extreme Sunday

They will get worse and more ANT-FOOTBALL when ITV start showing Premiership highlights

No I was reading the other day following the success of 'themed evenings' on BBC2 & C4, they are going to become commonplace as a way for BBC1 to retrieve some of the Saturday night audience. Even more so now that Match of the Day is to disappear on a Saturday night. So be warned. Well at least Hear'Say have appeared now, god they must be getting desperate.

I too hope they don't give us another themed evening like this!
