So, BBC1 are devoting a Saturday night's programming to the humble text message ? ! ? Should be good ??! The thing that really bugs me is the trailer they keep running, when the mobiles bleep, I keep reaching for my phone thinking I've got a message.

I keep reaching for the axe ready to kill the idiot who allows his/her mobile phone to be on in a public place.
Mobile phone users should be locked up in rooms and treated like prawns.
I hate them.

Well the whole point of the mobile phone is that you can take it anywhere with you, so it's quite likely that it will ring in a public place.

Oh really?
I was always curious as to the attraction of them.
Now I know that these phones are portable I might consider buying one.
Actually no I wont... the fear of making me look stupid (although this would require a great deal of effort as I am perfect in every way possible) puts me off.
Ho hum.

Modesty is a wonderful thing! Glad it was a joke Smile

So mobiles aren't good for emergancies or texting people? The only way I can think people looking stupid using mobile phones is
a) if they are pretending to talk to someone and their phone suddenly rings or
b) annoying / collection of ringtones
c) use in an improper fashion

If you use it to ring and text people normally, I don't see the problem.

mobiles are a great thing but why people have to have annoying ringtones i dont know. oh and another thing, why do some people have to have their phone ring volume up loud enough so the whole of the uk can hear it. i also cant stand phone covers and people who live their life by using a mobile phone 24/7.

I hate mobile phones!! Mine has the vibrate feature, and the ringer always off. I'm not too sure what Asa means about an 'Improper use' of a mobile, I can only dread to think what he gets up to behind closed doors

I doubt there'd be enough rooms.
