I quite like the new menu bar that comes up when you initialy press red:

However on the mini-screen function you can't seem to be able to select a feed. Hopefully this will be rectified soon Smile

Then when you select any other option from the main menu, you just get the old style screen. Hopefully they'll update this look soon too.

I heard about the new BBCi only on DS the other day, when I was asking about the new features on the MHEG screens. Up 'till then I wasn't aware that the new BBCi had launched, so as I was at college when I read that I couldn't see them for myself.

When I did get home, I decided to see the new radio screens for myself and they are certainly an improvement upon the old ones. Haven't tried out the new BBCi yet but from what I have read it looks good and is an improvement on the old ones in visual terms. However I have been so used to pressing the exit button to kill the MHEG layer and stop the press red dog from appearing that I haven't noticed. I have also read on DS that they have replaced the press red dog and it's please wait thing with something else, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. I just hope that it does not keep on popping up on the hour.

As for News multiscreen that looks quite good, bugs aside. Seems quite good, I'll have a look tonight. Wink

Multiscreen is STILL offline.

Not surprised as it either only had one feed working (ITVd boxes) or it just crashed the box (all the others).

I really think they should drop support for the ITVd boxes as Teletext suddenly went slow when they stabalised it for ITVd.

At this stage they can't do that, because a vast majority of their viewers have ITV digital boxes. In a few years most of their viewers will be Freeviewers proper and they can ditch the ITV digital boxes.

Well my GDB2 has the 3.1 software upgrade so it should be identical to the GDB3.

I suppose you're right there about the ITVd boxes although it's annoying to have to cripple my lovely fast MHEG engine to support a clapped out old one. ah well.

Well my Pioneer is as fast as any of the new boxes I've used, but the other ITVd boxes are extremely slow.
