Part 1 was briliant....and clearly was meant to be 1 hour long.

I agree and I also agree that the episodes would have worked better at 1 hour each.

However, I am not sure if you are suggesting that I am wrong about the 4 episodes merged into 2 isn't a thing?

Part of me thinks The Wrong Mans was going to be on in January with that new ident but was brought forward to Christmas. But as they had a special ident made they showed it now even though Christmas pres is running.

I have to disagree, someone explained that their town was given its Christmas decorations early as they were filming because the events were to take place at Christmas.

The story is based around Phil wanting to get home for Christmas to be with his mum. It was definitely meant to air at Christmas.

With that said I do however still believe it was shortened from 4x 30 minutes over say 2 weeks (or even 4 days which have concluded it on Christmas day, possibly to tie in with the stories conclusion actually) to 2x 1 hour slots.

Cordon has said that he expects to return to the series "one day". Having no immediate plan, obvious from the end of series 2, but would like to go back and work with Mathew Baynton again.

James also explained he doesn't view series 2 as series 2 rather series 1 part 2, which might give reason why he would like to eventually further the series.

As for series 2 I thought it was just excellent, lived up to the first series and was a brilliant continuation. Although I find the show brilliant for its writing and also its ability to mix comedy with suspense I think I would be happy for it to end the way it is and at least can accept not having third series for a while as it has concluded perfectly. Well done to Cordon and Baynton!

Each hour episode has two episode titles. So that suggests it was going to be shown originally as four half hour episodes.

Yes that is what I said?

Another new BBC Two ident ahead of Top Gear, advertising the 'Meet the Super rich season'. Black BBC Two logo in the usual position, with 'Meet the Super-rich season, 5 - 15th January' next to it. The ident itself is just a zoom on a helicopter, before the doors open revealing a physical '2' in Gold. It's nice to see that the '2' is being used physically again, but not all that well.

BBC Wales used their huge teal box instead of the black version. Looked awful - hasn't been missed. Hoping they don't start plastering it all over the usual idents to replace the 50 years box.

I noticed that ident. Good to see them trying, even if the result is awful Rolling Eyes

And there's our big beautiful box back, once again. Shame as I could just about stomach the smaller white version.

The gold '2' is the '91-'07 shaped 2, is it not? I do hope they revert to that symbol. Only a subtle difference I know, but I have never taken to the fattened up, sharper hooked 2 from the dreadful (IMO) windows on the world package.
