What do the BBC2 people have against the long version of this ident? Of all the idents, Sticky Label is the one where the short version is markedly inferior to the long version, and yet the short version gets used all the time and the long version hardly ever.

And the same to your post.

I don't know really. Perhaps they don't like it as much or short junctions are more common the longer ones.

I've no idea. Why did you post it goldfish97?

As for the thread, I've noticed alot recently that they don't seem so keen on any of the longer idents. (Could just be me not watching BBC two so much these days). It seem to be just a general thing to use the shorter version.

I agree about it be one of the ones that is better in it's longer form.

To be fair I think it is only better because we don't see it that often and Sticky Label Short went through a stage where it was played in most junctions. Drip Short seems to have replaced Sticky Label Short in that duty at the moment but I do agree with the earlier comment that the long ident versions seem to be used less and less.

Especially at 6am I've noticed, even though they've got all the time in the world for a long version!

And Flipped Fish, where on earth has it gone? Like C4, I'm not BBC Two's most avid fan but I haven't seen it in any junctions for months and months.

Au contraire mes amis. Sticky Label long is one of my favourites and (when I'm working) is played quite a few times on BBC TWO NI Wink

The long version seems to be used quite often on BBC TWO Wales.

I haven't extensively checked elsewhere, but it seems Scotland have a habit of showing Bounce and Invisible Walls most, NI show Sticky Long moreso, but Network generally prefer the shorter versions across all idents (except for Drum, where the Short version is non-existant on Network!).

Sticky Long was used on Network toward the end of April into Snooker Highlights, which was also followed by a VT Clock. Haven't seen it since though.

I haven't seen Fish Long much lately either; maybe it will get shown at the start of the morning in the near future.

Flipped Fish, both Long and Short, is used quite regularly on BBC 2 NI... well, by some people Wink . I tend to prefer the symbols where the 2 does not have arms!

As for Sticky Label Short, I think I'm correct in saying, that it is the default symbol placed in all junctions when the 'rough' schedule is put together by the planners (Skateboarders is the default BBC 1 symbol). It is simply there to hold the 'place' of a symbol.

As the schedule moves closer to transmission, and is fine tuned, the default Sticky Label Short is usually replaced by a more appropriate symbol.

Has anyone also noticed that Haka seems to have gone from BBC ONE?
