It's was nice to see a repeat of landmarks on bbc2 yesterday complete with the titles with the horses at the begnning!
it's repeated on tuesdays at 10.50am bbc2

Those titles date from at least 1985, although the programme you saw is likely to have been much more recent.

the actual programme was from MCMXCIII (1993) but it include the 1985 titles.

Not as recent as I perhaps thought, then. These titles have now had to be discontinued because of widescreen.

i recorded it yesterday on dvd cause i was at college. when i came home and played it it was in 4.3 like in 1993.
i didn't know it was on we love telly! called it bbc primary geography while tv choice don't have proper schools listings anymore!

and TVark doesn't have a proper website anymore Wink

which is a shame because I liked TV ark, now it's annoying because you have to save the files before you can play them

Ah, diddums. That's the whole point of the new content management system, to force people to save them and give US back control of our bandwidth. The leechers and websnatchers have had an easy ride for too long and it stops now.

Apologies for the continued absence of the Schools pages; hopefully James and I will get together with a view to restoring them soon.

Yes, it was a rare airing of the titles. BBC2 has the ability to send programmes out in the correct format and send signals to Freeview boxes about the aspect ratio. It's one of the things that annoys me about recording the CBBC Channel - no ability to switch aspect ratio.

Incidentally, a new six part series on Bangladesh was broadcast on the last Friday before Easter of broadcasts - didn't see it in the listings though.

Please bring back schools tv websites folks!
