Totally agree Square Eyes, I can't wait for this revamp, I just hate watching N24 coming from this temp studio, the whole service just looks cheap at the moment.
Has anyone noticed that on Weekend News 24 (which I watch before going to work every Saturday morning), I've noticed that when they cut to an interviewee in the studio and there is that background of telly's either on the left or right of the screen, there is this guy who walks past in a white shirt every 30 seconds or something???
He has been doing this every week now for the past 5 weeks! Isn't there anybody else working on News 24??? And why does he keep walking past??? Hasn't he got anything else better to do with his life? Or does he like to show off in front of the camera??? : :

It's a temporary studio, as a new studio set is currently being built where the old one was. They are currently in a studio with a wall painted blue behind the desk, and recorded "loops" of the background of the old set are superimposed by using chromakey.
I wish they would sort out the split screen graphic, the graphic itself is more then a few lines down, there's a lot of black at the top, and with Business Today, they just can't make it look seamless because of it, oh well it's only for a few weeks now.
There is far too much simulcasting of News24 on mainstream BBC One and Two, it's just used as a convenient schedule filler.
There are in excess of 40 hours simulcasting of News24 on BBC One & Two in your average week.
Indeed, and now they're threatening to show N24 during BBC2 downtime (and already have done on a couple of occasions).
Another equally convenient schedule filler appears to be CBBC/CBeebies. Why does BBC1 feel it necessary to start children's programming at 6am Saturdays? Only eight years ago it didn't begin until 7:30am at the weekend. And most of it's repeats...
If BBC1 clawed back CBBC to 7am on Saturdays, BBC2 would not need to start until 7am at weekends (News 24 would be on BBC1 until 7). Meanwhile this year has seen weekday Learning Zone lose an hour to...CBBC. Whatever happened to "educate, inform and entertain"?

It is annoying how much time N24 does get on BBC One and BBC Two, but the amount of time being given to LZ is decreasing, but this is only because the Open University said that they didn't want to carry on with TV programmes as they wern't much use anymore, as that explains that theres no OU at all on a Saturday and why it isn't on at 6am on Two. I seem to remember when BBC1 had a half decent schedule on a Saturday morning in 1997 or earlier, as it usually went like
6.50am (or so) Ceefax on View
7.05am The Fintstones
7.25am BBC News Summary and Weather
7.30am CBBC
Weekend 24 just seems to be a completely different programme now, as it is a complete relay of N24, where as 5 years ago it was a programme which was presented from the newsroom, had some news, more sport and more weekendy features in a N24 style of way, but I assume these sort of themes have disappeared. (The last time I was up before 9am on a Saturday was in June, in London when I didn't watch much TV)
Though Ceefax seems to be preferred as a cheap filler on BBC One Scotland every now and again, but really the problem is that Ceefax is rather out of date compared to BBCi and BBC Two seems to prefer showing programmes right until 3am. They even show a good film, they showed the film Rat the other week, though the only problem I had was that it started at 1.25am, it was a new film and only a PG but gets a sh*t showing. But I would make the most of it at the moment as apparently it will get worse after Christmas for Ceefax and LZ fans.
