BBC2 Idents

What's your favourite BBC2 Ident? My favourite is the little butterfly/2 that gets devoured by the big 2 like a Venus Fly Trap!

I have several...

>> The big plant '2' that snaps up over the little plant '2' in the forest (I think it's the forest).
>> Neon, where the turqouise lights flash.
>> The swan with the little baby 2's following.
>> Firecracker, where the 2 blows up with firecrackers attached to it. Shame it was discontinued.

I remember that firecracker was shown a LOT during schools programs,I remember it well that one of them was a dud!

BTW look out for November-Remember that BBC thing that's been going on for years with that giant firecracker man-Still going today!

I like all the old ones best, like silk, blade, paint and water (but not neon!). My all-time favourite is steam - the soundtrack is so haunting!

I like optic. When you hear the full music after about 10 seconds it gets really spooky. I have a video of it from closedown- in 1997 I regurly woke myself up to watch BBC1 and 2 clsoedowns (cos until then I was oblivious to waht actually happened at clsoedown. I woke up int he mornings and BBC1 and 2 were fuzzy and i wanted to know how it happened) and I taped the BBC1 and 2 closedowns once- in full right up until the transmitter was turned off. My grandparents on a video also have (but they may have taped over it) a BBC 2 closedown from 1995. At my house I also found a video with a COW BBC1 Closedown. sadly I cant find a TWO closedown on any of my videos (authough on one video I found a TWO ident).

Sorry I don't know its name, but I like that one when the fly goes into the zapper and explodes.

I quite like Arial, not used that often though

Ones I don't like are Water, Excalibur, Predator, Woodpecker and Kebab

The mid-old 94-97 era ones are the best

Am I the only person that likes the 'TWO' ident?

The late 80s one? I liked that as well - very stylish. But I like the current ones too. Actually, now I come to ***** of it, I like all the BBC2 logos. I grew up with the orange and white *****es version but they're all good!

I have had an idea for a BBC 2 ident. There could be a small insect crawling across some sand (perhaps a desert), and suddenly an elephants foot squashes it into a 2, screaming, coz it's dying!

Before the elephants foot squashes it, you could hear the approaching 'boom' of the elephants footsteps!
