You're kidding me. I don't remember that. I must have a terrible memory! Just consulted my caps from last Christmas Day on 2 NI. Only have one, at 12.21am early Christmas Day morning.

Until the late-90s, BBC One NI had the day off on Christmas Day - we got BBC One network all day. BBC NI Head of Presentation Mark Simpson is at the controls on BBC One NI tonight.

NW can either stand for North West (or in this context: NetWork)

IMO it works well for BBC 2 because it doesn't have regions (except the 3 nations) but not for BBC 1

Maybe you should abbreviate 'Network' as 'NET' or 'NTWK' or 'NWK'
