They’re a bit odd really, when I’ve seen them I’ve thought it was a normal trailer that’s been cut off by mistake.

Here's the video of #2 sting, in HD.

I deleted #1 sting as I wasn't particularly interested in keeping it. Will upload the HD video if I catch it via BBC2 Network again.

Looks like Silk is not the only current ident to have been kept during the Christmas period. Optics was shown just before Snowfall.
Optic used again this morning to introduce Victoria Derbyshire.

First use of an animated 'Optics' Sign Zone/Now Graphic on BBC2 Network, early this morning, at 3.56am. The animation judders badly, though.

So there is no budget for BBC2 Christmas idents but Newsnight can serve up a festive intro for its online advent calendar.

Perhaps if the BBC really do love their retro idents they should start using the one from 1978 which, thought lost, has been discovered and released today.

It has. If D.Page still has the clips, I wonder if he could upload them onto his Vimeo channel. I'd be a shame for them to disappear, especially with other sites currently down or not updating.

Seeing as it's Christmas Wink

Even those are just lazy presentation - in the days of Christmas past they'd have worked the 2 into such things.

A "2" aperture surrounding the clips (endboard style) would suffice.
