Well, this thread seems to be collecting dust but I'm gonna change that!
The people behind that rather hypnotizing Paint ident, Twenty ThirdC along with Nik Hill, Stylow and Davy Evans, posted a behind the scenes development reel on Vimeo and it just so happens that real paint was involved in the making of this colourful ident.

I like this ident and thought it was all CGI! Shows what I know!

Would have liked it to do a little more than forward and reverse but it's still a great ident. Nice to see BBC2 using a few more idents last night than their usual 6. No two successive links should use the same ident. I'd love a day there to get my hands on those links and try some different ifehts there.

I've noticed this with some recent TV idents, which have this problem where they are actually real, but they're so slick and professionally done that they don't look organic or human enough to be real and you think they're CGI. Too perfect, if that makes sense.

It does make sense! It's just like the slime ident which I thought was all CGI.

Probably not really useful but schedule changes due to Politics Live over running:

8:30 to 9:30 - My Million Pound Menu
9:30 to 10:30 - Icons
10:30 to 11:25 - Newsnight

It was a repeat anyway but Wales and NI were to show their own programmes at 22:00.

If they're not particularly time sensitive they can be delayed and pre-empt a repeat somewhere else.

I'm guessing further disruption is inevitable tomorrow now.

I imagine things were a bit busy in NC2 in the lead up to it and it just got missed. Scotland are just following them, not involved in the decision making

Thought Provoking/Infinite was used at 9pm. And it was the color changed one Northern Ireland used once

Scotland wasn’t quite so clever last night, after the extended Politics Live. At 8.30pm they put out a trail for Icons, advertising it as 9pm, rather than 9.30pm. They had an hour or more to substitute that trail with something else. The programme was trailed over the ident anyway, with the correct time.
