Is this just a slightly darker white and lighter black? A shame in a way, but I think really it's fine.

They could do variations on that one in different colours.

Mystery solved as to what happened to the original version. It's now being used as part of a handbag display in my local department store...

This is a curious Radio Times piece from earlier this month discussing an unused BBC Two ident designed for introducing Dad's Army https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-11-02/dads-army-bbc2-ident-that-never-was/

It's a nice idea, but not sure it'd have worked as an ident, going from a pastiche of the Dad's Army titles straight into the titles themselves - it'd have felt a bit repetitive.

It might have worked nicely as a sting for a trailer though.

Nazi symbols on an ident are never a good idea.

Honestly it's going the ITV way, you'll see a new ident, post to check if it's new, and find out it's been in use for 2 years.
