The idents look great but the BBC TWO text spoils it for me. At least they removed the box

I think ‘BBC TWO’ is in the right place, centre bottom. Network finally seeing that BBC Northern Ireland have been right all the time!

I agree - BBC Northern Ireland are the best Wink

You'd have thought BBC NI would have tried to rescue something respectable from Oneness.

How? The surrounding pres isn't the problem like it was with Two. Oneness's problem is the main idents. Can't fix that without outright replacing them.

That's an impossible task really. There's nothing you could do to improve the whole oneness concept.

I would imagine if they could do it they would have by now but the gods in London would put their foot down of course if they ever tried.

Theoretically, there is nothing stopping them from replacing the BBC Two logo in the future - perhaps when new BBC One, BBC News and BBC Four logos were to come out - a consistent look maybe...

Speaking of BBC Four...

It seems like Auntie Beeb has recently started to quietly phase-out all remaining pretence of "BBC Three" still being a thing. Three doesn't readily make itself known on the BBC website anymore unless you're going out of your way to look for it, and I recently noticed a standard BBC Two-branded trailer for People Just Do Nothing (as opposed to such a programme being primarily promoted as a "BBC Three" programme available online, with the subsequent linear broadcast merely designated as a "BBC Three on BBC Two" slot with little/no promotion). I anticipate that shortform online-only "yoof" content will be absorbed under the main iPlayer branding, soon enough.

It sounds daft having a One, Two, and Four if there is no longer going to be anything whatsoever called "Three" (I thought it was daft already anyway, as soon as Three ceased to be a linear channel). Could BBC Four be either renamed or also closed, I wonder? I favour the latter. Anything worth keeping from BBC Four can easily be accommodated on BBC Two, which basically was rendered a bit empty and purpose-less by the very creation of Three & Four in the first place!

According to the Radio Times, People Just Do Nothing has been 'promoted' to BBC Two for its final series, hence it not appearing on BBC iPlayer before broadcast (despite the fact that on the webpage https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062r9t5 it is still branded as a BBC Three programme).

What a waste to do this for the final series. People Just Do Nothing should have moved to BBC2 much earlier after the first or second series. No iPlayer release at the same time either.

Wasn't it on BBC1 in the post-news slot when BBC3 was axed, so effectively it's promotion is somewhat of a demotion.

BBC3 nowadays seems to be limited to sending out some tweets during Strictly. They're not even pretending anymore it is still a thing really - their online offering sold more under the boxset branding that BBC3 now.

The way that something called "BBC Three Does Strictly" - whatever that may consist of - is actively promoted (only a little bit, mind) during the main SCD and It Takes Two programmes on the tellybox, does seems at odds with the way that "Three" is otherwise being quietly buried.

I suspect that the Strictly spin-off will be the last hurrah for "Three" being actively promoted at all. Once the current SCD series ends, I doubt that we'll see/hear of "BBC Three" ever again and I'd be amazed if "Three" gets to find out what 2019 looks like.
