BBC Two 2018 Revamp

I thought the same, as though after the last couple of weeks they needed something more children based for Saturday mornings. I like the old school way that Dean Lydiate introduces himself during the kids block; Dean, along with Duncan & Becky are brilliant at what they do.

No way are they going to take an ident out of the rotation so soon after launch.

There’s idents designed to air for certain programmes, hence why you don’t see them very often. The likes of Revelatory, Escapist and Reflective are dominant in overall showings.

The fact that we’ve been able to have a large number of idents from late September, and have two within more than a month, is demonstrable in how much flexibility and creative freedom you can utilise with Curve.

Yet black and white popped up for daytime then disappearerd, snake one i have no idea what is should be used for. Block was drama but that now been replaces by clouds and white idents

Its clear there were testing stuff out but it would be nice to know what each ident should be used for...

Blocks are used purely for drama programming, and the smoke ident for late night programmes.

They were using it for a fair bit until the last two idents of the original batch appeared. They’ll appear again anyway.

Just enjoy them rather than keeping count and worrying about idents that have gone AWOL. Some idents being used much more rarely than others is nothing new.

Blocks has also been used for factual programming. The reptile/snake/pin one and black & white spiral have disappeared. We hope! Unless they were taken off due to complaints.


But usually when you launch with a batch you use all of them.

I've no idea how things work in the presentation department, but probably when putting the junctions together, the set of available idents are probably always presented in the same order. As the list get longer, are you going to go through the list to find a particular one or just go for something closer to the start?

ITV must be the exception though!

Really hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but this logging of idents, effectively, is really dull, and nobody here is going to have answers to the questions you have about their usage or lack of. It’s really repetitive to read.

ANOTHER new one! We're being spoiled!

I think they could also use that for comedy and entertainment. What I like most of all was that we had no idea a new one was coming. It just arrived with no tip off from a trailer animation.
