Yes, I saw this. What an ridiculous thing to say!! Janice Betson also said that she didn't know what channel she was on when she saw the ident and I think she also stated she nearly turned over by mistake...
...even though it clearly states "BBC TWO" at the bottom of the screen and there is a massive 2 curve on screen...
I think I can see how a few of the idents might give off a slight sick reaction. Nothing major of course but they are abstract and some of the more alien ones might take some getting used to.
the 2's were a very obvious signifier of which channel you were on, the curve aspect of the 2 in these new idents might not register right away with some people who don't really think about design elements too much. Naturally people here think about it a lot, but the average viewer just knows things changed and they like it/don't like it. People by nature tend to dislike new things at first, then warm up to it. The 2's were always going to be hard to follow so some people will vent, but will likely eventually warm to them anyway.
