Feels a bit like there's an endless number of different potential idents in there, if only the time and resources were there to be able to develop them.

Maybe they will in the future, or already have for them to be gradually added in. I hope that this package evolves wonderfully over the next few years.

These development videos just show how versatile this package could be. I hope a few of those ideas make it to the screen.

Some wonderful examples in that video of what could have been good idents, although the one at 0:44 is Channel 4 inspired.

I'm beginning to warm to these new Idents but still missing the 2 logo.

I love the black and white one 3 seconds in - reminiscent of the old 70s 2 logo. Something like that could work very well for an anniversary ident at some point.

That's exactly how I feel. I have no problem with the idents themselves but will never understand the logic of binning an iconic ident with years of heritage.

The 2 shape was not the original 2 the channel has used for branding. After 27 years I think the channel is right to move on. I only wish they had ditched the logo and the Teal colour too.

It was only slightly changed you could still tell that it was BBC 2 just from looking at the 2.

I agree it is time to move on but I'm still of the opinion you can update without removing the logo totally. A lot of these idents aren't unsimilar to the previous 2 idents they are basically updated versions minus the 2.

You could argue it's time for Channel 4 to move on and remove their logo too after nearly 36 years of having it but it won't happen because it's such a strong brand. Channel 4 and BBC 2 had the strongest brands in the 90's in my opinion.

Channel 4 has had their logo since Day 1, so that gives it some heritage and staying power. If those 2's had been there from Day 1, that would be different
