Also the 'teal' box doesn't work in that situation, it'd work better if it was a white box.

Haven't seen this ident on Network yet. Saw it on BBC2 NI before Black Earth Rising on iPlayer, one of the best of this set. Watched the endboard/trailer animation on BBC2 Scotland. Very nice. Thumbs up

I'm going to break with consensus here and say while I think the concept is good, the execution is lacking a little for me in one or two, particularly the seemingly arbitrary colour changes in Feel Good; the rapid reversal-to-initial-image-to-force-a-resolution technique used in Escapist, the snake one, and Revelatory; and how the Tribble's feet suddenly appear and disappear. The simplest ones work the best - I particularly like the grey mechanical one, the animated one and the flippy pages one, which, along with the single note theme song, are a nod to the channel's recent heritage.

And Revelatory isn't done justice unless watched in HD. It really does make a difference.

I completely agree. I'm not sure why people are mourning the passing of the 2, when it's still there, staring them in the face.

It's because it might be a curve of a 2 but it's not THE 2!

I will never understand the obsession of brand agencies and channel heads who would rather ditch classic identifiable logos instead of just updating them. Or brand agencies not wanting to show the logo at all like that Channel 4 debacle a few years ago. With the no ident idents on the main channel.

But was there really anything else they could do with the 2? I think it was time to move on, much as I loved it.

And so the inconsistency continues. If you’re going to do a rebrand, it’s all or nothing. They need to stop using both Gill Sans and the boxed logo.

Ideally the ECP layout would fit the credits within the shape of the 2 on the left.
