The new look is innovative, artistic, stylish, clean and minimal. Glad they've splashed some cash. Makes all the difference to the overall appeal of the channel. The BBC One idents are for a different audience and they do their job.
These idents are more my taste. Definitely will be checking out the channel more. I've ignored BBC2 for too long
.
This is a fascinating comment. The newly refreshed idents are now going to make you watch BBC2 more than you would otherwise have done, regardless of programme content?
If branding wasn't important and didn't affect consumers habits companies wouldn't be spending millions on it. BBC2's ratings aren't going to significantly increase overnight but the brand perception should definately improve now it doesn't look like a second hand shop.
I imagine it'll be reserved for horror/thriller and related programmes.
And possibly B&W programmes like Series 1 of Dad's Army next Saturday?
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I get more of spooky, late night vibe from that ident, and I wouldn't expect it to go out before something like Dad's Army.
If they're going to have a dedicated B&W ident, it would be the spiral one wouldn't it? They used to use B&W Copper Cut-Out before B&W films, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Brown Ident is clearly for Drama, Black and white is for Arts, and I think the black worms is for horror and thiller so what does the two unseen ones cover?
