BBC Two 2018 Revamp

I wish I'd known that tribute would be so lengthy, my recording cut off halfway through!

I had left a 5 minute overrun on the tribute recording schedule for the site as I seem to recall missing some of the original 2001 sendoff. Even that wasn't enough though and would have been cut off. Thankfully this time though, I also woke up about 3 minutes before it was due to start, so was sat at the computer extending the recording manually as it continued.

So that's why the text fades out at the end of the promo.

And even when the endboard is different to the ident, it still fades in neatly as the curve is in the same place (as seen with the video of the first junction).

Wonderful.

These are officially the worst idents I have ever seen. Worse than Oneness, Circles, Window on the World...

Au contraire, these are fantastic, especially because they play with CGI, something British channels should do more

Minor gripes: personally I’m not keen on the changing fonts. It just seems a bit gimmicky and smacks of “ooh look we’ve got different versions of our new font, let’s use them all!”

Also disappointed to see the 4:3 safe Gill Sans Subtitles DOG lives on.

Those small points aside, the idents look brilliant - fresh, bright, modern and vibrant. I love the transitions into and out of the trails too. Just what BBC Two needed - thoroughly refreshes what was a tired and unloved looking channel.

Surely BBC One can’t continue much longer with Oneness while its being outshone by its sister channel.

I haven't even seem them on screen yet, just YouTube clips and already I really, really like them. A massive breath of fresh air needed for BBC TWO, lets just hope the programming improves to match.

Please please please have this same team work on a new look for BBC ONE that compliments this look and bring a bit of familiarity and uniformity to their channels identities.

Yeah, I agree about the useless "subtitles" tag (why do we even need that?); but I think I'm fine with the fonts
