Absolutely love that new one. Just ticks all the boxes for me - straight in, symbol, BBC Two, audio cue, gorgeous visuals.

This is great stuff, really really great.

I love how regularly we're getting new idents. Keeps the channel looking fresh and stops overuse of certain idents.

Northern Ireland had a nice long playout of Illumination. It's even better when you see more of it and hear the music. Using a bit of the Charged music I notice.

The BBC would be absolutely mental if it didn't hire the same team to create a new identity for BBC 1 and to have it tied in to BBC 2's to create a flow and some network familiarity. Same for BBC 4.

I like this new one.
Very artsy but let's hope they give Thought-Provoking another appearance or so.

I reckon once the new idents have been pumped out and have been given time to settle in, we might start to see more of the lesser-seen idents such as 'Gritty' and 'Thought-Provoking'.

Hear, hear!

I want to see Thought Provoking get more outings and Gripping used more at 9pm.

Ooh yeah. Gripping is another one I'd like to see more of on BBC Two.

Can we agree that his has to be the best ident package UK television has seen for at least 20 years?

Agreed!! Meanwhile BBC One has one of the worst...

BBC One hasn't released a new regular ident since August last year. At least BBC Two is making an effort.

Hopefully the lack of new idents is a sign that the set may soon be coming to an end...

That would give each channel more consistency too.
Hopefully if they do hire Superunion (knowing that they will due to the success of the BBC2 rebrand), they'll give BBC One a new look and maybe a new logo. They haven't had a new logo to call their own since 2006 and it's in dire need of a dramatic change.
Same for Four, they've had the same black box since launch back in 2002.

Has it not? That's good news then.

Yeah, I looked on Wikipedia page for them, the only recent ones from the set is the BBC Threetime one for the BBC Three on One block and the Comic Relief ones both in March. The 'Steel Pan Band, Plymouth' one has been last new regular one which aired August 8 last year.

A nice playout of Intense today. Three complete cycles ending on the curve going into the tennis!

I love the fact that you never know when a new ident is coming and have even less of an idea of what it will look like. It certainly keeps things fresh and interesting.
