Sorry for sounding like a show-off, but that's the hidden benefits you get out of not going to bed!! Wink You see, I've turned into Asa and am taping all the closedowns, yup, it's my new year's resolution, not to miss one single extended ident!! Mum's ok with this obsessive behaviour, as long as I turn the telly off straight after!

Now, I'll stop blabbing and cut to the chase! I reluctantly guessed it's gonna be the final showing of the ident - a tiny thing called logic you see! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif
And hey presto, it was! They aired a lotta lotta trails to get through the remaining 5mins before 2am - incl the BBCi promo, and this PIF about STDs!! Whoops! Then, an 84sec News24 countdown! Aren't I a lucky sod!! Don't worry, a tv card is on my todo list for 2002!

EDIT: Then there was the short BBC2 closedown ident!! Sad Snap, the chrimbo idents are still going strong!! Smile

I also saw the bbc1 closedown and was a bit slow off the mark (being new year and all) so i captured the countdown from 63secs. It is a decent quality version available at my webpage. If anyone's interested...

Happy New Year!

I am so glad that I stayed up and taped it. I counted and the ident was 31 seconds long. Pretty good, though I was hoping it was going to be a 90 second countdown. I stayed up till about 2.30 but I put ITV1 on at 2.10am and do they really sign-language movies?

Earlier in the evening before Holby City BBC One Scotland played the ident for about 20-30 seconds before going back to trailers again

Ooh, lucky Scotland! They'll be another 'just before the hour' closedown tonight at 2.55, so expect a nice juicy long ident and countdown before 3am! If ya willing to stay up that is... Wink My Mum likes the News themes anyway... Smile

The way I saw the ident the last frame actually froze before handing over to the countdown, so I presume this was the last frame of the ident! And for once I saw the extended countdown on a Widescreen! Bliss! If only I wasn't quite so drunk at the time!

BBC Scotland messed everything up as usual and we didnt get to see any countdown thismorning.
They were showing T in the park for some reason. that didnt finnish till 2:05 or something then there was the weather till about 2:10 then they just had the usual N24 Ident before we joined the channel.

Nah, don't expect anything special - the other night, BBC Scotland went from an ident, to a News 24 ident, and then faded up the News 24 feed about halfway through the headlines at the end of the bulletin - so we saw the studio for roughly 20 seconds before it finished.
(C'mon, they coulda shown us some more of the baloon or something until the weather started)

Nice to see BBC ONE England making the effort then but Scotland spoilt the party! There was no chance of me capturing the long countdown and ident last nite as I was at a mate's completely **** ed!

I'm on the right side of getting a tv card soon, can't put my finger on a date, but you'll all get a chance to see it, that's for sure! We can't be all in the same place at the same time! Smile
