BBC1 will be the one to miss next week, as there is a lot of messing about with the BBC1 schedule with lots of celebrity based reality tv, extra soaps and soap-style drama

On Wednesday there is an extra edition of Casualty, which is all we need, especially with Holby on as normal on Tuesday

On Thursday they've moved EastEnders to 8pm due to Fame Academy which runs in various slots. This means that Waterloo Road has been dropped for 3 weeks, nice way to treat a series mid way through its run

On Friday they've got an hour long edition of EastEnders at 8pm, no doubt to try and give a good lead in, ITV style, to Castaway which starts at 9

Fair enough they are doing things for Charity but do they really need to overkill it before the actual event. 10 years ago they never had as many programmes as this now there's three weeks worth of Celebrity Fame Academy, is it really neccessary

They are only doing what ITV1 do when they have some sort of reality tv series running. They are showing an extra episode of Casualty like ITV1 would do with Corrie! You seem to defend ITV yet slag off the BBC for doing the same thing!

It's been discussed on another forum that BBC1 seem to have made some strange scheduling decisions recently

Starting with Monday. As everyone knows Monday at 9 is one of the biggest slots of the week. For some reason BBC1 went with Crimewatch in this slot last week and next week there is a repeat of Traffic Cops

Meanwhile Life on Mars is showing on a Tuesday at 9, and due to the competition from Champions League football, the male audience is therefore elsewhere and Life on Mars is underperforming as a result

Surely the slots should be the other way round?

Any views on this?

That would make sense wouldn't it - though generally the Champions League has been underperforming on ITV1, but obvious now it's kicking into gear the ratings are reflecting that.

How well are the "first look" BBC4 airings of Life on Mars doing?

Likewise in Northern Ireland. At the moment (11.30pm) we're putting out WILD WEST on BBC2 which has been in the 9-10pm slot for the past two weeks. Scratch Head

Life on Mars is on BBC1 Scotland at 10.35pm this week to allow them to crowbar River City into the schedule.

Not sure about the respective ratings for both shows, but it just strikes me they've got their priorities wrong.
