if bbc1 were showing a royal wedding or something like that and they gave schools programmes to bbc2 for the day did bbc2 use the follows shortly slides that bbc1 used or not?
I was at school when Prince Andrew married Fergie. We were all crammed into the hall and forced to watch it

I seem to remember being on holiday in Cornwall or somewhere for that one. I think I might've been taken out of school for a week to go on holiday though, so everybody else was in school.
But Ben's question is still valid. There were occasions when BBC Schools programmes were shown on BBC2 (before Daytime on Two launched), so what kind of pres
did
they use?
Okay, matey boy, no need to wade in first and think second.
Any chance you'd like to go back and check where I said that Ben's question WASN'T valid, then come back and apologise?

Nick, where in that post did I state that YOU (or anyone else) said Ben's question wasn't a valid one? The conversation had digressed to discussing Royal Weddings, and I was merely pointing out that there was still a valid question in the original post that I'd like an answer to.
Normal BBC2 slides with 'follows shortly' could probably be made quite quickly for schools programmes, so I guess that they were used on these occasions.
Still versions of the dots have been mentioned, and there is a photograph of one on Sub TV. The CGI dots could have a =2= keyed over the BBC1 stripey lettering, and there is an example of this on TV Ark too.
