It'll be something or nothing (well it has to be), but is it possible Celebrity Mastermind has been withdrawn and Digiguide hasn't updated. I gave up my subscription to Digiguide because it wasn't as up to date as it used to be.

If Celebrity Mastermind was being replaced with something else, then Celebrity Mastermind would still be in the schedule online and on the EPG until overwritten with something else. Some regions on the EPG have the correct data.
Hello, good evening, and remain indoors.

Funny you mention that, because this website has gone down that exact rabbit hole:

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2020/02/23/mindless-speculation-bbc-announce-major-doctor-who-change/

Is John Joshua, who sent them the tip, on this forum?

Two days ago it was a Eurovision announcement, now it's a Doctor Who regeneration! Someone let Gibbo know so we can get the hat-trick of conspiracy theories.

As mentioned, there are gaps in the schedule every week - there was one for the Killing Eve repeat this Wednesday, and as pointed out there's another gap later that evening. Most weeks a couple of regions take their time getting up as well. This happens every single week but usually nobody notices them and the data finally gets through. It has nothing to do with Celebrity Mastermind being dropped or nobody deciding what's going to be in that slot, the schedule is all signed off. Sometimes data is just incomplete for whatever reason.

It used to be that if people saw these they'd assume it was a cock-up. But now some people on the internet have some bloody funny ideas about television, we get endless theories instead.

This is almost as amusing as the time Apple Tree Yard was supposed to be a secret episode of Sherlock because Apple Tree Yard is an anagram of "reappeared", give or take a letter.

The best we can get here is Dismember Centrality, which seems quite apt for the BBC.

That sometimes happens with the scheduling websites, along with the shocking consistency of when they are updated each week. They can be there at 3pm on a Wednesday, at 5pm, at 9pm, or be drip-Fed through 24 hours.

If indeed there is a mystery show it's unlikely to be Doctor Who related. Jodie Whittaker has already been confirmed for another series and a Christmas/New Year special has already been filmed.

Virgin Media Tivo have a very strange EPG listing for next Saturday, with regional news airing from 5.50pm - 6.30pm, I have just checked.

At a guess, it doesn't know what to do with a hole in the schedule so is just extending the previous item to fill it.

This is no slight at you personally but I wish people wouldn't leap in to refer to things like this as "shocking". There are umpteen things that can go wrong when compiling the schedules and sending them across to all the different platforms that require them. The people involved do everything they possibly can to make it run smoothly but sometimes issues occur.

At a guess, it doesn't know what to do with a hole in the schedule so is just extending the previous item to fill it.

Is the right answer.

I use this analogy for tv scheduling. Its like trying to put together a jigsaw with a picture that can change at any second. Similar to news channels. There is no guarantee that what we see advertised for next Monday will be there and when that happens its natural for changes to be made on the hoof as this example shows:

If that happens on Sky, the EPG normally states: This is "Channel name", so in this case would say: This is BBC One "region name"
