They also put some Fame Academy style next captions across the bottom of the screen at the end of The Weakest Link.
They have done this sort of in the past as well with other programmes, with no junction between a programme, and just using a bumper to seperate the programmes.
They've just linked straight from Fame Academy to Winning Lines tonight. Probably will when they go back to Fame Academy as well. Did they do this last week?

No doubt Luxton will be complaining, not even an ident between Fame Academy and Winning Lines, just a link from studio to studio.

Running later than earlier due to Alex's microphone not working. Just watched the programme, (Alex) being one of the students.
The fact that the best singer (she's a star, everyone vote for her on 09011 212210) on Fame Academy didn't have her microphone working is irrelevant to the short junctions.
The real reason should be very obvious...... what started (a few weeks earlier than it should have) over on ITV1 tonight?
No doubt

Well can you blame me - this is sheer desperation on the BBC's part. And a huge gamble. What's the betting a sizeable portion of the audience switch over if they know that Fame Academy is next (quite a size too, judging by the viewing figures!)
What if...
BBC-1 adopted a policy of NO trailers at all. Just an ident between programmes and a now and next voice over ?
They may actually find it has very little impact on audience figures and would save them time and money.
