Eastenders at 8pm across the broad that could be a good idea, overall in England and it might help stream line the line up.
""This is to allow the show to try out some new features and formats for the future."
I dare say there could included parts form inside out, there alot local stories in that show aswell, thus everyones a winner. well....................
NOT for scotland ,it just utter chaos waiting to happening!

It'll be interesting to see what the One (hour) Show will be like, it does always seem a bit rushed, especially when they get a great guest in and end up spending 3 minutes talking to them

The Monday and Friday episodes would then be on at the same time as Corrie.
That wouldn't be good at all.
Corrie's on at 7.30 and 8.30, Mondays and Fridays. Not 8.

Considering the trial is up against Corrie, I can't see it being hugely successful - and I think doubling the output of The One Show across the week permanently wouldn't really benefit the show.
I think also if EastEnders had to vacate it's 7.30pm slots rather than half an hour four nights a week it would be better off settling into an hour-long slot twice a week.

Sorry I thought this was about the weekday schedule and not just early evening!
I was hoping they were completely revamping the daytime - but hey ho!
hour-long one show - do-able but isn't that then losing more and more slots and making the evening schedule very boring with most programmes being an hour in length (may be cheaper than 30 minute shows but viewers lose variety in the schedule)

The 'One Show' is OK as brainless fodder while I'm making/eating by tea (and simultaneously recording two soaps on Sky+), but I wouldn't hang around on BBC One for an entire hour of the stuff.
The fact that they have short and snappy items may come across as a very light way of dealing with issues, but it's not supposed to be a serious programme in most respects, so they would have to change the format and editorial aspect considerably to stretch it out to a full hour 5 days a week.
