No, it's supposed to represent the same globe used by BBC 1/One for decades: just a new take on it (after the unfortunate diversion that was 'Rhythm & Dance'
).

I don't think you'll see anything new soon, as they are watching their pennies!

'Rhythm & Dance, were so much better, BBC Scotland tended to uses more set number of ones unlike the network.

And 623058- Unfortunatley BBC2 will probably won't hange ceither, by the looks of things.
Interesting that Scotland uses a set number- maybe they could only afford to adapt a few as theyr'e cheaping out...

I have been trying to explore ideas for a new BBC One logo/brand and its hard to do. There is nothing wrong with the current font and logo, and it only needs a refresh similar to Channel 4's.
The main issue is that the whole BBC television branding packages could do with a change. A change in idents, identity/graphical information systems, and the playout capabilities to bring in smoother transitions and nicer credit overlays etc.
