Having studied the radio times to decide my evening's viewing, I sat down at 9pm to watch traffic cops on BBC1. At first I thought Panorama was overruning from its 8:30 slot, but after two minutes I realised it was in fact the start of a Panorama programme.

Why on earth was it necessary to change the scheduled programme at such short notice? It's quite annoying thinking a good programme is about to come on only to find the listing has not been adhered to, even if it is a rare occurence.

They did apologise.

I think originally the 8.30pm slot was supposed to be for a normal edition of Panorama, but they changed the schedules to fit in the special hour-long Panorama edition at 9pm.

A good programme.... or even Traffic Cops! Laughing

What was Panorama about? I'm sure that it was a far better use of airtime than a fly on the wall doc (not that they're bad per-se)

I only heard a the good old "There are some changes to tonights schedule" routine. I recorded Traffic Cops on my Sky+, whether it automatically moved the recording to the new slot is beyond me.

If you had it on 'series link' then it should automatically pick up the next programme. However, where individual programmes are resheduled for another day, rather than simply delayed until later that evening, I don't think Sky+/V+/Freeview-Playback pick up on it, they simply cancel the recording.

It wasn't on Series Link but I know what you mean. I recorded Tarrant on TV one Saturday, and overran by over half an hour due to the boxing. I had to reset the recording myself. It might have been somebody else in the house who reset it before Traffic Cops came on.

Apparently the airing was brought forward because Primark - when being asked to give their comments on the allegations, released everything to the press then. The BBC decided, as I understand it, to then get the programme out asap.

I thought Traffic Cops was on at 2030 on Monday with the Panorama Primark Special at 2100? Certainly the Panorama was advertised a good few days before hand so the schedule change can't have been that last minute.

Should we have rolling news on BBC One this afternoon?
