DOCUMENTARY: Ted and Sylvia: Love and Loss
Channel: BBC 1 North
Date: Sunday 15th February 2004
Time: 23:15 to 23:45 (starting this evening)
Duration: 30 minutes.
The recently-released film, Sylvia, tells the story of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, two of the greatest poets of the 20th century whose marriage ended in tragedy, with Plath's suicide. Looking beyond the myth, and using rare archive material of both poets, the poet Ian McMillan explores the life and work of Hughes, looking at the poet's roots in the Yorkshire Pennines and the impact of his bitter sweet relationship with Plath.

And timeshifting the film as well... looking at the radio times website I'd guess they're going to opt into BBC Wales rather than run the film themselves as Wales have it on at the same time

They'd have to opt back to News 24 themselves though, since Wales has Sign Zone programming after the film.

Doubt it - the last time we timeshifted in Bristol TVC just sent us the show on tape ...

Opting to a nation's timeshift would never happen... at the moment anyway.

...and sadly the Nations don't usually have the luxury of being sent a tape either, unless running earlier than Network (which sometimes happens, if only by a minute or two).

ah right, I just assumed that as it was at the same time as BBC Wales were showing it it would be easier to take a feed from them... and it might mean that they could run it in widescreen somehow rather than cropped to 14:9

What I don't understand is that the EPG (on DSat at least) doesn't show this opt... and not for the first time. I think "some people" need to talk to "some other people". Rolling Eyes

Last time I saw it was when the BBC was playing out those Your Stories programmes after the 1.30pm Regional News, which I think was played out by BBC Leeds.

The opt out skipped all the trailers and gave us a lovely regional Ballet ident.

Haven't seen Ballet in months.
