BBC1 to drop Saturday morning kids TV

While the CBBC Channel remains DOGged there's every need to have it on either 1 or 2.


I don't think kid's would be too bothered though, I mean CD-UK and Live & Kicking both had their programmes logo's in the corner, and people still watched them, Kid's either wouldn't notice or just think its something cool.

And therein lies the problem; children are growing up not knowing any different. Credit squeezing, ECPs, 4:3 cropping all started on children's TV and then spilled out into mainstream...as if broadcasters are deliberately patronising youngsters.

But if in a couple of generations time everyone is 'patronised' into having on-screen graphics and knows nothign else.... then there isn't a problem!
