Just before Points of View, there was a cockup with the EastEnders Omnibus ECP which ended up covering up half the credits.

Then just after Look North, they opted back in to find a frozen BBC1 LDN branded Inside Out trailer, which stayed on screen for ages before being replaced by a black screen. Michael Fish appeared with the weather as normal

What ident before National news? Cap/Acro/Scate/Tai?
In the other room from the TV all I could hear was some strange sounds so Just wondering what ident was used?

Slightly O/T, but apart from Capoeira, Acrobats, Tai Chi and Skateboarders, have any other idents been used to introduce BBC1 regional news programming?

Christmas Kids 2002.

I think Haka has been used in some regions too.

Ballet has been used before now, and I think BBC Wales used their football inspired BBC ONE Wales/BBC NIL GERMANY one with the festival music into Wales Today.

I saw the Inside Out mistake earlier since I was having a look at what BBC East were doing -- otherwise Wales and the other two nations wouldn't have got things like that due to the set up, and of course there's no Inside Out to trail.

Those idents were used during the evening programming that day, which was a Wednesday. There is no symbol into weekday Wales Today, the programme begins immediately after the end of the national news.

Later that week though, Festival was used at 6pm into the national news, and necessarily the nations can use any ident for their local programmes, depending on the mood of it.

I believe that 'Bollywood' was once used into a weekend Wales Today...

I noticed cockups quite regularly on the ECPs on the ends of Eastenders too and Heartbeat.

How does this mistake occur? (Looks towards the general direction of Noggin)

AIUI the only idents that should be used before either national or regional news bulletins (as opposed to current affairs) are Capoeira and Acrobats. Ballet has been "retired" AIUI - but can be used in times of serious news...

(This was a policy change made quite a while after the "dance" idents were introduced - but is still valid I believe)

Mistakes happen... Didn't see either.

Don't know how automated the ECPs are in London - but it could be as basic as someone recalling the wrong DVE set-up (or entering the wrong code into the automation computer and it recalling the wrong setup as a result) - or it could be that the credits were designed not to be ECP friendly and no-one checked when they cached the show or built the schedule (or the show was delivered late?)

The freeze-frame of the LDN trail is probably the last thing on Marylebone High Street's output at the end of their regional opt (quite a few regions run a trail within their regional opts at weekends on occasions)

Whilst Marylebone opt-out on analogue and digital terrestrial BBC One from Crystal Palace, on satellite and network they are cut up by BBC One network presentation. If the presentation system falls over, and the junction that the regions are supposed to opt-in to doesn't fire, then Marylebone High Street (aka BBC London) will remain on the network feed until the Pres director can sort out something to replace it.
