There is a chance they'll repeat the 04 ident but BBC1 did a repeat in 2003 and BBC2 did a repeat last year so i think BBC3 is going to replay last years this year.

Oh FFS.
The amount of "Christmas-bashing" by politically-correct jerks that blighted last December really got on my nerves. Tell me Royal Mail, why should I buy these stamps if they are jumping on the same bandwagon?
I decided last year, in response to this absurd political correctness, that for 2005 I would compile a minidisc featuring Slim Whitman's "Where Is The Christ In Christmas?" and other material reflecting the true meaning of the festive season. If I was a channel controller, I would have no qualms broadcasting such music.

I have nothing to comment upon Idents. However, if the BBC are going to be politically correct like the ROYAL MAIL has been this year, then Christmas may not be featured in their "Magical" ident. I bring the Royal Mail into mention as I have seen a sample of this years Christmas Stamp set. Now, we all know that Jesus was born in Israel and would no doubt have been Olive coloured, but stamps this year depict Mary and Jesus as:
Black,
Asian and Aboriginal. OK there is a picture of a European version, but come on, an ASIAN (Hindi) actually, Mary and Baby Jesus. For fear of being inclusive and avoiding offending ethnic minorities, they will probably succeed in offending the majority.

Well said Simon. Let's change the image of Muhammed into a pure white guy just to be inclusive to Christians.......
Exactly, it would be totally wrong. Firstly the muslims would find it offensive, AS would Christians. Secondly, tampering with Religious Images just for PC sake is disgusting and unethical. Thirdly, Asians DO NOT find images of Christmas offensive. Muslims DO NOT expect us to change our customs for their sakes. They find it far more offensive for people to dictate to them the things they are supposed to find offensive rather than worrying on what actually does. For instance, a muslim will find offensive the following: tampering with any religious symbol for PC sake, violence, intrusive behaviour, racism, pornography, disrespecting each other, foul language etc....They do not find any Christian festival offensive in the same way as Christians do not worry or have any problem against their festivals.
It is the PC brigade, media and bloody do-gooders who do far more to alienate different cultures than different cultures themselves. How do we know that muslims, hindi's, red Indians and aborigines will not find it offensive to tamper with a religious symbol just for their sake.....my answer is they probably will.
With regards to Christmas Idents, I expect it will be of an elephant with a hindi goddess waving the muslim moon in her hand and singing aboriginal chants to the sound of Happy Xmas (War Is Over).
Exactly, that's how stupid we have become.

Here I am! Sorry, been on holiday in Wales.
Well, if there is going to be another Blue Peter competition this year for BBC1's ident, then it should be pretty soon because last year the competition started in September.
But if I'm honest, I think that BBC1's going to do a 2003 on us - a recycle. This time, it will be the puds that get recycled. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was great last year, but christ I couldn't cope with it being shown this year as well.
I think we're in for a treat on the BBC2 front, but I do hope the other 3 don't get re-used yet again, especially Christmas Tree that was first shown in 2001.
Still, just over 15 weeks left until Christmas Day. Just over 16 until 2006!

Now this isn't like me at all to praise an aspect of BBC presentation, but I thought last year's Christmas idents were fantastic - really Christmassy and that, very well thought out and executed. I most certainly would not object to their use again this year.

I liked the puddings but didn't like the music (as compared to say 1999's 'ho ho ho'). It wasn't very Christmassy - had a Morris Dancing aspect which i didn't like.

I have a sneaky suspician that a new ident will be created this year.
