Well, if it does launch on saturday (the ident that is!!!) I think that would be very sad. Totally undermines the whole Christmas period. The Listings magazines don't start until December 23rd, the proper Christmas programmes don't begin until Tuesday with "Worst Christmas Of My Life" and IT ISN'T CHRISTMAS!!!!! Bloody Marketing teams!!!

I also have heard from another person who has said that they will launch before SCD, at 6pm, on Saturday, and BBC Two's will launch at around 6.10pm on Saturday. Looks like it's definitely Saturday.

I think this Saturday is too early but the email I recieved suggested this week as I got the reply last week saying that it will be changed this week.

Has this actually been confirmed?
My views on the recycling of BBC Christmas idents have already been well-documented.

BBC2 are going to use last year's ident again - probably because they've spent too much money on the new idents for next year.... but why are you so worried, Simon, when you've got your model of the 1982 BBC 2 Christmas ident to enjoy?

it hasnt been confirmed but as ive posted somewere else on TWO's everyone's talking about page theres a pic of last year's glittery '2' . no confirmations yet but the evidence looks to be pointing to a recycled christmas.

WOO HOO-no dancing kids. ok it might not sound as spectacular as bbc one christmas idents before 2002 but i for one am reserving judgement until the idents air. far too early to air them though, i only hope theres plenty of versions as they will get very boring fast if theres only 1 version.

Christmas presentation has been in full force on most of the multichannel networks; UKTV's started this week I think. But this is far too early IMO for the core channels, especially if there is only to be one ident for every junction between tomorrow and the beginning of January.
