I actually quite like it. The sparkles obviously aren't exaxtly the same and they sort of explode now from the O in one. It will be interesting to see the idents. Possible launch day: Saturday 16th?
I do like the Christmas sparkly glittery thingy at the end, very festive, though I can't say the same for the music, bit gloomy.
The programmes look good though.
The whole atmosphere of the promo is to tease the viewer. The choice of music reflects this - as if to say "look what's coming", wanting to entice the viewer in for a look. It may well change in subsequent promos.
And for anyone who doesn't know, the tune is Leontovich's "Carol Of The Bells".

To be honest, I quite like the music, something a bit different. It suits the trailer. Must everything be jolly and sliegh bells *just* beacuse it's a christmas trailer?
Well personally I think so. But then last years idents were much darker than in previous years as far as the music was concerned so maybe that's what they're going for again this year.
But they launched on Saturday 17th December last year, so I wouldn't call it 'too early' surely.
The problem with airing them so far in advance before Christmas means that they get a full weeks run through before Christmas, which is incredibly tedious when it is the same ident over and over again in every junction.
I personally think that they should launch on either Friday 22nd or Saturday 23rd December and they will probably disappear again on Wednesday 3rd January.

Exactly and none of the programmes it is promoting are happy jolly Christmas spectacles. They are dark dramas, sci-fis etc. Whilst they're specials for Christmas, this music is exactly right for their personal themes.

Schools presumably break up on Friday 22nd, yeah?
My guess would be launching at 7pm on Friday 22nd, with the last one showing into News 24 on the 2nd, as you say, Mr Rew.
