So for the first time in a longtime Christmas pres finished on New Year's Eve. It's a bit weird seeing the normal idents again always takes me awhile to get used to them again. Just a shame that they didn't have a couple of new ones for the new year.

I think it may return later on today. This morning schedual sees the launch of the new year new you season, which runs for the entirity of the week, it would look odd starting this season with last years christmas idents. Pluss all the trails for the programmeing tonight are complete with sparkles.

its v. strange how BBC2s xmas idents are still airing while BBC1's have stopped. therefore i agree with LONDON that we might see a return of BBC1s xmas idents tonight as all of tonights trails have sparkles on.

Does anyone else feel that some of the idents' audio in the idents are a bit weak?

Some of them are lacking something. With the dancers, we had stronger music, for example acrobat, and I think we need more serious idents.

Well the junction I saw on BBC2 this morning started with a "2 night" trail in the Christmas style, and finished with the bog-standard fish ident. So presumably the BBC channels are all going to have normal idents during the day, and Christmas idents during primetime for a few days.

The Christmas bumper audio has been driving me mad but now I've worked it out - there's a touch of the original Breakfast Time theme in there. Listen enough and you'll see what I mean!

Thaks Nicky! You're so right - that's been bugging me over the last few weeks - Breakfast Time! - all we needed was Frank Bough and Selina Scott and we could well have been back in the mid 80's Smile

After hearing the KITES IDENT for the first time I thought that had a definite Breakfast Time feel about it... do have a listen as that one seems to be the most convincing Smile

Didn't want to create a new thread for this, but. Was very pleased with BBC One's lack of end-credit promotion on tonight's Vicar of Dibley - the last ever (hopefully) edition, and had full and uninterrupted closing titles. Very nice touch. Just how it should be.
