What a great announcement into Celebrity Mastermind - Phil played quizmaster, giving Nicola Phoenix (currently on TWO) 10 seconds to name tonight's channel line-up - with 5 correct answers and no passes! Laughing

The annoucements have been great tonight. Announcer before EastEnders noted the 11 million who watched yesterday, and thanked us for making BBC One 'the one to watch this Christmas'.

Duncan Newmarch also had some great announcements in the mornings of Christmas and Boxing Day (even into Breakfast which doesn't normally have a junction on these days).

Well done to all the presentation team this Christmas.

Not sure if this has been mentioned; I've just noticed BBC ONE Scotland's trails for Hogmanay have replaced the sparkly circle with a firework that bursts from the centre of the 'O'. Could this get carried through to the idents as well?

Yeah it's been like that for the past few days. Nice touch.

I seem to recall BBC One Scotland doing something similar last year.

So for the first time in a longtime Christmas pres finished on New Year's Eve. It's a bit weird seeing the normal idents again always takes me awhile to get used to them again. Just a shame that they didn't have a couple of new ones for the new year.

That is actually a very good idea about the fireworks.

IMO these firework mock designs for BBC1 & 2 by tvarksouthwest would have looked great on screen. (it was meant for bonfire night but they still would have worked well for new year)

'spose they ended this years xmas ident early because it started so early

Seems an odd decision considering their Christmas schedule includes today's programmes. They should run until twelve night really, although I got bored with this season's ident very quickly.
