not as humorous as this but just as good: a boxing day trail from 1988 although i seem to remember this being used other years aswell during the christmas COW period. this certainly brings back memories: Clicky

Was that not from 1989? 1988 was the partridge in a pear tree package.

Yes it is from 1989. The reason I can tell is because Blackadder's Christmas Carol was first aired on 23rd December, not Boxing Day.

This was filmed using various sized polystyrene snowballs: the largest was an amazing 19 feet high.

Where are the regional BBC1 Christmas idents? A network intro into the Ten O'Clock News on Monday and likewise before the Six tonight. Any more lost slots and we might not get to see them Sad

BBC East has had regional variations since Friday. I'm sure all the other regions have their regional ident too.

ok apologies for the wrong info. my memory was very blurry so i stupidly believed a youtuber. in regards to the regional idents i seem to remember that they took a while to appear last christmas too.

its the fact that there is only one - gets a little boring

had an idea about another one

the ident starts with a roaring log fire in a house. zoom out and see a man, woman and a boy and girl decorating a tree in their living room. White baubles cover it apart from the bottom row which are gold. The camera swoops round so it gives an areal view of the tree and the gold baubles apear to form a circle of white surrounded by gold. The BBC one appears and the kids keep adding baubles seen from above.

sounds like a nice idea. i like this years ident but i agree that only one ident is becoming tedious and tired but for this year were only going to get a snowball-they'll be keeping ideas like yours for future years me thinks Wink
other circular ideas:
holly reath
baubles
kids building a snowman
christmas pudding
