I used to watch all those programes on TV back in the day, and I love the singing!.... now they seem to be promoting a load of films I've seen on Sky Movies donkey's years ago, good films, but I tend to Sky+ things at Christmas.

On the subject of the ident, I still don't like how the focus is more on the people and what they are doing, rather than the channel identity itself, so I'm looking foward to a Channel 4 ident.... "Where's the four? Where's the four? THERE IT IS!!!"

Yes, I agree. What is it about people?!? They just will be enchanting or endearing the way a symbol or creature will. So they may have won that Time award, but they just don't amuse me!

Wow I have absolutely no recollection of that, and it is the sort of thing you'd remember isn't it.

Is it me or do the stings sound like the start of BBC breakfast back in the early 90s.

Brilliant!
Although I've now got 'bbc1 has gotta lotta fings on' going around in my head for the rest of the night

Nice to hear that long lost Brucie catchphrase: 'be there'! Laughing

What a fab trailer - pretty much sums up light entertainment on BBC1 back then.

The christmas cross channel promo looks a bit strange, as all the logos form up at the same time, and the video of idents is smooth.

not as humorous as this but just as good: a boxing day trail from 1988 although i seem to remember this being used other years aswell during the christmas COW period. this certainly brings back memories: Clicky

Was that trailer voiced by Alan Deadicoat?

On the subject of they "don't make trailers like that any more", Clicky (if you don't mind a bit of strong language)
