2010 and 2014 was perhaps the last decent christmas packages on BBC 1.
2013 was okay... a bit boring, but for what it was - not terribly executed.
2010 seems to be a bit underrated, but actually, it shows how you can have people idents which can work really nicely if the production values and ideas are decently executed.

The 2011 Consider Yourself package wasn't too bad either. Certainly compared to what followed.
Yes, the 2012 trails featuring Rob Brydon were very good. But the accompanying idents were the weakest we'd had in a long time. If they'd even added some festive-sounding music to them, that would have been a slight improvement.
One positive thing from Christmas 2012- it was the first (and to date ONLY) time that they had shown a New Year "fireworks" ident which I think they added in to the set from Boxing Day onwards.
I totally agree with you Jonny re the 2014 Christmas idents for BBC One were perfect. I thought they were brilliant and tbh, I wouldn’t complain if they ever re-used them one year.

They couldn't use the Bake Off one now.
Yeah they could. They still have Mary Berry on at Christmas with a Mel and Sue surprise show! I was always in denial that that was a Bake Off tree anyway since there was no Bafe Off airing that Christmas on BBC1.

True, so maybe they could re-use it if they wanted to. However, it's unlikely as (a) BBC One haven't recycled a Christmas ident for 10 years now, and (b) it's an ident from the now defunct Circles era.
