BBC1 Christmas 2017 Idents

Not much of a Christmas link either, take away the incidental decorations and it could be anytime of the year

Is it just me that half expected that they were going to edit the final notes to Symphony to fit into the old BBC One three note motif? Had this been 2016 and pre-Oneness I'd have been calling it a missed opportunity?

1) Now Christmas idents are more expensive than they used to be, so that BBC obviously prefer to show them for a longer period of time

2) Christmas atmosphere and Christmas shows happen more before Christmas than on the Christmas day itself these days
3) It's obviously all part of a general commercial push to let you spend more money, and BBC "subconsciously" is influenced
4) Last but not least, isn't that great to have a break from your usual Oneness boredom?

BTW disgressing a little bit, here in Italy most channels decide to put on their Christmas look on the 8th of December, which is a national holiday here (Immacolata/Feast of the Immaculate Conception), and it's usually the traditional day when people put their Christmas decorations up.. however, some people decide to put their decorations up earlier than this these days, so some channels behave similarly

When the BBC didn’t start Christmas idents until Christmas Eve, how long beforehand did they start running Christmas branded trails?

Why BBC 1 feels it needs to follow John Lewis' lead to promote Christmas telly I have no idea.

No Pres B to put the mechanical models for BBC One & Two on a table and point a Link 125 at each?

It is very strange and it's obvious they are copying John Lewis.

BBC is where you want to come to escape all of that marketing rubbish.

I blame Brexit for this oneness stuff as they seem to think we're a divided nation. It is totally fine for the nation to have different views and that's what they should be embracing.

Brexit is being blamed on the fact that fewer people in the UK eating Brussels sprouts too. In fact, lavatory paper seems to have gone from 240 sheets per roll to 180 sheets per roll so maybe that should be blamed on Brexit too.

Try greedy companies who will use any reason to jack up prices and slash content.
