Wishful thinking, but I'm hoping to see Oneness taken off air by the end of this year. Makes no sense to carry on from next year onwards, as it was said to be a year-long collaboration. Keeping the terrible idents but removing the Oneness tagline only exacerbates what is an already dull set, with no underlying theme or even any relation to the channel's ethos and programming.
Circles coming back? It would be strange to do so, especially with news outlets at the start of the year talking about the end of those idents. But it could work. As a stopgap.
The way I see it - either an old set as a stopgap or a major overhaul of One and Two.
If they don't want to work on new idents, they should just bring back the circles
I know some despised them, but, in actual branding terms, and compared to the branding of many other countries' public services, they were pretty well made (only SRF1 came close enough: except for the soundtrack, which is very monotonous).. a shame to let them go for a much much inferior package

I think Oneness was the cheap stopgap and the stopgap for BBC2 is showing the old ones.
There's a greater possibility now we'll get a brand new look for 1 and 2. It's the only conclusion you can come to when they've stopped the Circles for some reason and BBC 2 has been showing old Idents for a few years now.
Going back to Oneness or the Circles would be odd.
