Looks lovely from first impressions, and indicates a bigger sense of ambition for this year's presentation.
I have to be careful of expectations regarding the latter part of what I have wrote - BBC One teased Sprout Boy in the days leading up to 2015's Christmas presentation and although BBC Creative executives saw the campaign to be effective, reception was mixed, judging from previous posts I've read.
BBC2 - should go back to either the 2011 or 2007 full sets or use the old soundtracks as was, if no budget for anything new. Brand continues to be mismanaged/allowed to free fall.
I wouldn't have minded BBC2 going back to the Christmas Sprite idents. At least they were slick. Even True Christmas which is a cheap as chips channel, created new Christmas idents!
Even a variety of older BBC Two Christmas idents would suffice, not the same ones we've seen for the last 2 years- there are plenty to choose from. And let's hear them with their ORIGINAL soundtracks. The 1990s ones were particularly memorable and would still fit in with the ongoing retro branding.

I really liked this package from 1994. That would fit in with todays branding quite well.
I have a sinking feeling that all the good stuff will be saved for the promos and the ident won't be that good. Like with the 2012 package, the promo seemed quite promising compared to the ident that came as a result.
