So, am I the only one that thinks the whole concept looks dreadful ? I will of course reserve full judgement until I've seen them on screen.

Bring back the good old fashioned computer generated idents, that's what I say.

I agree, the promotions are looking nice, but Ive never been a fan of these idents. What makes BBC1 think that Christmas is all about children? Fair enough 1 children ident, but 2...

Fantastic, absolutely brilliant. I've been dying to see a picture of the ident for weeks - and now I have. And I'm so glad that they've used a red colour again. Still, the background is a bit of a disappointment, and lets face it, there could be more children in the ident rather than just five. Not complaining though - a brilliant effort from BBC1 this Christmas compared to last year.

My praise goes to the 10 year old girl who designed it - NOT the witch on the ONE AKA Lorraine Heggessey!

Yes, there very well could be...!

The ident I've seen (probably the pre-news one) is very similar to the one used the last couple of years, a load of kids moving round a snow scene in circles.... except dressed as Christmas puddings instead of snowflakes.

Lik ethe last couple of years there's boundto be more than 1 version

Technically, you haven't - they're just two of the break bumpers. From Steve's very subtle suggestion there, I would imagine that the actual ident(s) will feature more children.

So there's some hope that one of the kids might be on a wheelchair hopper after all Smile

If the BBC wanted to go all the way and truely reflect British society, can we also expect to see a pregnant 16 year old girl etc.

Actually, if those kids are all taken from London schools, then surely they should all be black?

Saw Tony Blair playing basketball with some kids in Africa on the news yesterday. Didn't realise till later that it was actually south London! Rolling Eyes

Hmm, this is all very exciting. Who brought their digital camera into work then TV Boy? Cool

If it features the same music (minus BBC1 generic) as the snowflake ident - I shall SCREAM!

When the actual symbol itself makes an appearance, watch out for the kid who falls off her pudding and tries (unsuccessfully) to get back on (bottom right of screen). It is quite sweet. And the music is a camp as Christmas! Not great for introducing the News Confused

Hang on - don't you mean 14. With her 12 year old stud boyfriend. In their free council flat. And their £1,500 monthly benefit income?

Wow - amazed at how excited people get about these things?!
Love the conspiracy theories about where I got them... afraid it's not very exciting - they're in the 'Winter Highlights 2005' press pack along with previews of forthcoming programmes.
