Why do the bits of Harry Potter on the trail have to have the copyright nonsense for three lines at the top of the screen? How ridiculous - are they going to do that during the film too? Laughing

I think it's because they are using clips of the original Warner Bros trailer and as "Harry Potter" logo is a registered trademark, they are required to highlight this.

Should have told them to bugger off, it's a bad precedent to set. Though I do wonder if that version of the trail will remain on air when higher powers get to see it...

Being as though it's now Monday 13th December, I'm looking forward to even more Christmas trails on BBC1. I've a feeling the next one will be a preview for that Eastender's Christmas party thing presented by Shane Ritchie (Alfie Moon) on December 23rd (a week on Thursday).

Absolutely - surely if the rights to show the film have been obtained then there shouldn't be a problem with using clips from it in trails?

Torturing the viewers with EastEnders is bad enough - but the EastEnders Christmas Party once again, terrible.

If they want to do something like this, why not ditch the usual doom and gloom of the Christmas Day episodes and do a special musical Christmas episode.

Well I think you have to tempt him out with chocolate [not penguins].

This has worked in the past, but I wouldn't try it more than once mind you.

I would never buy a Harry Potter book because of the protectionist extremes the publishers employed to ensure nothing was given away last time. And Joanne Rowling is rich enough.
