Seems strange watching the BBC1 Christmas ident in 2005. No doubt that it will be reused again next Christmas. Already my money's on it will launch again on Saturday 17th December.

I don't think they will be used again, at least not next year. I think that the tsunami may have made them realise that a new way forward is called for. I think a new ident with more appropriate news idents will be made and will probably air on Friday 23rd December. Anyway, if they do use the puddings again I won't mind, they are delightful.

BBC ONE NI Analogue picture and teletext disappeared for a period around 2.20am this morning. Anything similar happen elsewhere?

This is it - one last day before the BBC1 Christmas ident disappears. I feel like crying - does anyone have a tissue?

It seems strange. To think there was so much excitement about this ident at the run up to Christmas in early December. And now Christmas has effectively vanished. It's gone very quick this year!

Oh dear Joe! That means you're getting old! If you start noticing how quick Christmas comes and goes then you are starting to knock on abit! The next thing is when you notice how young policemen are nowadays!

You're probably right Steve. I may be in my early 40s, but I've noticed a few times myself that my mind is deteriorating.

I see the jolly music accompanying the ident has returned for the 5.30 news bulletin this evening (well from BBC NI anyway).

Have the idents been silent for the past few days then, or am I totally missing the point?

I haven't been going out of my way to watch specially for this, but, yes from what I've seen and heard for myself and from people posting here.

It was silent again just now before the bulletin just starting.
