I've just seen the first showing of the formal version of the ident!

Well, I'm thrilled for you.

I wasn't that excited Square Eyes. I was furious infact because it was completely the opposite - very informal. The audio is just ridiculous for the news aswell. We need the clock back - desperately.

Finally, the ident was shown at 5:45. Typically, the Scottish narrator made no hesistation of speaking immediately, thus there was only 2 seconds of full audio of the ident before it was dubbed for her to speak. She didn't even mention the new ident.

Looking forward to seeing the formal version of the ident for the late BBC news this evening. A lot of changes need to be made to make it formal - wouldn't you say?

The Scotland, Wales and NI announcers parrot the London intro word perfect, which does somewhat undermine the reason for having them.

Was it just me or did the Harry Potter promo have a few lines of copyright information over it? Must be part of the rights deal the BBC have for the film.

It wasn't; it did and it is.

Is there no end to how far WB will go to flex its corporate muscles with Harry Potter? Seems they're not content with threatening teenage girls running fan sites. The Harry Potter films should be made by a British studio.

The new ident is ok - nothing brilliant but at least they have bothered to make a new one! Personally I think there are TOO many puddings on the screen at once and looks a bit cluttered - it could have been choreographed better!

Lets see what ITV has got to offer next week.....

Well I'm actually really dissapointed - that's actually IMO the worst ever Christmas Presentation I've seen. Even most music channels have produced a more professional package than this...

I'd go as far as to say I'd like to see the Snowflake Children again... Rolling Eyes

Well, I suppose, this could be seen as an extension of that snowflake idea!

PS i preferred the snowflakes over the new ones!

Note that they didn't bother to create separate pieces of music for the bumpers, instead lumping the ident music on top of them.

One thing you do notice is this year's children are distinctly older, so maybe there's a pattern forming. What's the betting next year's ident (hint, Lorraine!) features teenagers? Laughing

Indeed. Which means that music will become so annoying. Hearing it at least twice in each junction means you can't be sure what is an ident and what is a bumper.

Very cheap that they didn't commission seperate music for the stings

It's probably just a matter of taste. I don't like the style at all.
