As said in the Christmas Ident thread, the BBC One trailer for Christmas launched last night before Wright around the world in England and everywhere else it would seem before that.
The trailer uses the tune of Ding Dong Merrily on high with new lyrics;
"Ding dong Christmas Time is here, in Dibley bells are ringing,
The boys are back and full of cheer, and Albert Square is signing.
Mmmmmyyyy Family,
Jon-a-than Ross,
Big Impression,
Graham Norton,
Sherlock Holmes,
And Shrek will be...
On the One the Christmas.
Ab Fab like a drink or two,
There's nothing more Test the Nation (could be wrong),
Bruce shows off his dancing moves,
And Holby can't palpitation (does this make sense?).
Mmmmmyyyy Family,
Jon-a-than Ross,
Big Impression,
Graham Norton,
Sherlock Holmes,
And Shrek will be...
On the One the Christmas."
The text at the start sparkles, and the BBC logo and ONE text in the box sparkle throughout, looks very nice, perhaps something that they may take on to BBC Two also, surely it wouldn't take that much work, and the logo could be added to the BBC Two Christmas idents.
Though it's going to be like Christmas Decorations, when BBC One take the sparkly box down after Christmas, it will look odd!
I wonder if they've planned regional versions into the news!
Very seasonal and Christmassy.
No doubt we'll see comedy Christmas trailers and maybe a drama one or two in the next couple of weeks.
Also note that Harry Potter isn't included in this song, very strange!

That's it - they're out. BBC1 has a Twinkly lights sort of theme if you saw the promo I Saw.
The red box has sparkly text and a load of glitter Appears when the Shutters close.
Add Comments at Will please.

I like the way that the glitter falls down when the red shutters close... clever

Yes, they have

I've only seen a Christmas ad for Freeview so far. Featuring the voice of Liz Smith as the Gran (no...really?). The characters are freaky

I quite like that, i think it's very clever and nice how they've done a Christmas version.
At least they are entertaining compared to some ads, like the Digital Radio ones.
I'm glad there will be regional editions, though by this first comment, i was thinking about the box. Will the Box glitter and sparkle over the regional names? That would be nice.
Anyway, for those who haven't yet seen it. The TV Room are on form as always, see here to download or view the first Christmas BBC trailer of 2004

Can anyone tell me when BBC One will start to broadcast its Christmas idents, will it be on the Saturday before Christmas (18th December)?
Also....
Can anyone also tell me if there have been any stings made featuring the christmas puddings, like there were for the snowflake kids, that go in the promotions?
Thanks
Matthew

Yes, there are short interclips: 'Headbang', 'Knife and Fork', 'Executive Toy' and 'Pumping Puddings'...... I'll leave those up to your imagination, but they're entertaining.
