You can say that again!

Nick Knowles and other such people that appear during the daytime shows and from former axed shows (such as Changing Rooms) should be banished into oblivion and the BBC should nurture some real talent - rather than relying on its merry band of usual suspects - Nick Knowles being one of them!

Yes, a merry band that also includes.. Fearne Cotton, Natasha Kaplinsky, Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross.

Yeah - They should get a new guy on... About 38 years old, greying hair, plump, gap-toothed... Just to add some variety, like...

I thought you were busy straddling large £100,000 in an erotic manner for a bingo channel Greg?

Well, it wasn't MEANT to be erotic, but I guess I just can't help it!
You must be referring to Big Box Bingo, every Tuesday night at 8pm on Sky 157 (www.bigboxbingo.com for full details...)

Then again, we mustn't forget the Play Monday Charity Draws (www.playmonday.com) EVERY Monday, also on Sky 157, but at 9pm.

Those two shows would, in theory, leave me free the rest of the week to do some mighty fine family entertainment show for the BBC.

Subtle enough?

No Greg, it's too subtle!

Why is BBC One a load of s***, simple 2 word answer - Peter Fincham.

That idiot is more concerned about squeezing the credits down because in his words, 'no one cares who does the lighting or is the Key grip on programmes and they can look it up on the internet anyway' - NO WE CAN'T PETER!

This is what happens when a company over pay people, they do bugger all work, insult people and get away with it, and come up with c**p ideas.......and in this case programmes!

I think we would soon she him PULL HIS FINGER OUT if he was on £5.30 a hour and struggling to pay his TV TAX each month like a lot of us out there!!!

Since when did the new ECPs become Peter Fincham's original idea? Your forgetting it's on ALL channels.

He doesn't have to go along with it though.

Someone should also tell that to the idiots who dropped the axe on Ceefax Have Your Say. Not everyone has a computer.

Much as Peter Fincham does not deserve the mauling he's currently receiving from certain right-wing tabloids over the Queen saga, his current Saturday night programming isn't helping his cause - namely DanceX. This is like the old ITV trick of mutating and milking a format for all it's worth. If any heads should roll over Queenie, it's the muppets in the BBC Press Office who prepared the tape and should have known the tabloid hacks would have a field day with anything that appeared to give a false impression.

As for credits - very disappointed by PF's response on Points Of View but you're right Jenny, just because everyone else uses ECPs that doesn't mean he has to. With one or two noteable exceptions, Peter Fincham has pulled BBC1 up by its jockstrap and if you think the channel is sh*t now, remember where it was five years ago (and no, I don't just mean the idents!)

Agreed - BBC1 isn't exactly the best channel, but it's certainly not the worst. Think Channel 5 as the benchmark for the worst.

IMO DanceX and most of the numerous talent competitions should be scrapped and replaced with some proper television. If you look at C4's Saturday night offerings and perhaps make it a little more light-hearted, that's the sort of thing PF should consider.

God, could Peter Fincham end up more hated than Lorraine Heggesey?

He's already made one massive mistake in the axing of Grandstand - especially as most people probably don't realise it has been axed considering apart from the lack of theme tune, there is very little change to how sport is presented at the weekend!

And he's hammered the first nail in Blue Peter's coffin too by axing one episode a week.

And now he's refusing to rule out a fifth episode of EastEnders, despite universal agreement that ever since it went to four episodes it's been crap!

P.S. For what it's worth re: the Queen. The press are only making a big deal about it because they were the ones that were duped.

If the BBC did show the clip and then say she stormed out then fair enough, the BBC are at fault - but if the clips were just shown in that order as part of a trailer, then it's the press who have jumped to the wrong conclusion!

After all, since when have trailers had to show clips in chronological order?
